Burna Boy ushers in 2017 with ‘Hallelujah’

AFRO-FUSION and dancehall artiste, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has released his first official single of 2017. Titled Hallelujah, the song has been described as a mid-tempo inspirational track with lyrics that cut across many demographics.

Sampling Victor Angel’s 2007 hit song If no be God on the track, which was produced by Killa beats, Burna Boy tells a story of how he has survived different challenges, thanking God for his achievements and the little things people generally take for granted.

The artiste is currently on the third leg of his Underrated club tour in the United Kingdom.

A songwriter and performing artiste, Burna Boy was born to Bosede and Samuel Ogulu in Port Harcourt on the 2nd of July 1991.

He rose to prominence in 2012 following the release of Like to Party, the first single off his debut album L.I.F.E – Leaving an Impact For Eternity which was released in 2013.

In November 2015, he released his sophomore album titled On A Spaceship to rave reviews. In 2016, he followed it up an EP titled Redemption.

The Original African Don Gorgon, as he is also referred to by his fans, has worked with several A-list Nigerian and international artistes such as the legendary 2Baba Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, Sarkodie, Dbanj, A.K.A, and many others. He has also won many awards all over Africa, most recently the One Africa Award at the Metro FM Awards in South Africa.
