Rising Islamic singer Alhaja Gawat Oyefeso, who has been doing quite well with her musical career, in an interview with The Nation, has revealed the reason behind collaborations of Islamic singers with Fuji artistes, which is on the raise recently.
“Fuji music is related to Islamic songs if you check history, hence our affinity with Fuji artistes,” she said in a statement.
“We have a good relationship with some of the artistes. I can work with a Fuji artiste as long as they will bring the purpose of the song to fruition and help us pass the message better. I have used Malaika and Sefiu Alao in my musical works before,” she said.
The singer who is a registered member of the national body of Islamic Musician Association of Nigeria, ISMAN, is the daughter of Islamic programme presenter on NTA, Alhaji Aremu Abdurasaq Gawat who was declared missing in a controversial circumstance in Lagos some years back.
